About the Course

Workshop Overview

The Reclaim Your Craft mini-workshop is your essential Educator Refuel, delivered by the mentors of the Bold Educator Collective. This powerful two-hour virtual session is designed to move you beyond professional burnout and the feeling of being a "little robot". We provide experiential learning and practical tools that tap into your wisdom within and unlock your potential for greatness. Our goal is to empower you to Reclaim Your Craft by restoring CREATIVITY and confidently elevating teaching back to the impactful profession it is meant to be.

The Collective’s approach focuses on strengthening your capacity as a leader, enabling you to make bold, independent professional decisions.

Structure and Format

This is a two-hour virtual mini-workshop delivered via Zoom. The session provides a "taste" of the Collective’s larger work. The content is facilitated by the four mentors (Sharon Marcus, Gayla McDowell, Heather Dean, and Sarah Johnson/Sara) and is structured around four focused experiential modules: PLACE, PEOPLE, PURPOSE, and PLAY.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for educators, instructors, and facilitators who are seeking growth and rejuvenation. This includes:

  • Educators experiencing burnout or feeling bored.

  • Seasoned veterans looking to expand their practice or early career professionals (e.g., those with 2-3 years of experience).

  • Professionals who want to amplify their agency, find meaningful impact, and align their path with their personal values.

Key Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will walk away with high-leverage tools and a mobilized mindset for immediate use in their professional roles:

  • Actionable Frameworks: Learn a transformative, three-phase model that moves you from acute observation to systems-based analysis and immediate action planning. Tools include The Contextual Analysis Framework and The Action Framework Blueprint.

  • Purpose and Identity: Discover how your identity shapes your choices and story, empowering you to live intentionally and lead authentically. This session helps affirm that you were born with a purpose and value.

  • Confidence in Decision-Making: Gain clarity and direction using the Six Thinking Hats approach, which transforms decision-making into a structured, inclusive, and creative process.

  • Creative Practice: Experience Arts Integration as a learner, applying photography techniques to synthesize a powerful idea or struggle identified during the workshop. This fosters creative risk-taking beyond the "right-wrong memorization task".

Deliverables and Next Steps

All participants receive practical takeaway tools and frameworks for sustained professional growth. As a culminating workshop event, each participant will submit a titled photograph and caption to the Bold Educator Collective Photography Showcase.

This virtual mini-workshop serves as an entry point to the Collective’s long-term offerings, which include residential retreats and ongoing individual mentoring sessions (coming soon).
