About the Event

Workshop Overview

The Reclaim Your Craft mini-workshop is your essential educator refuel, delivered by the mentors of the Bold Educator Collective.. This powerful two-hour virtual session is designed to move you beyond professional burnout and the feeling of being a "little robot". We provide experiential learning and practical tools that tap into your wisdom within and unlock your potential for greatness. Our goal is to empower you to Reclaim Your Craft by restoring CREATIVITY and confidently elevating teaching back to the impactful profession it is meant to be.

The Collective’s approach focuses on strengthening your capacity as a leader, enabling you to make bold, independent professional decisions.


Structure and Format

This is a two-hour virtual mini-workshop delivered via Zoom. The session provides a "taste" of the Collective’s larger work. The content is facilitated by three mentors (Gayla McDowell, Heather Dean, and Sarah Johnson) and is structured around integrated experiential modules on YOUR PLACE, YOUR PURPOSE, and YOUR PLAY.


Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for educators, instructors, and facilitators who are seeking growth and rejuvenation. This includes:

  • Those experiencing burnout or feeling bored.

  • Seasoned veterans and early career professionals looking to amplify their agency to make meaningful impact. 

  • Professionals looking for a supportive community 


Key Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will walk away with high-leverage tools and a mobilized mindset for immediate use in their professional roles:

  • Purpose and Identity: Discover how your identity shapes your choices and story, 

  • Confidence in Decision-Making: Reinvigorate your professional confidence to design meaningful learning experiences 

  • Creative Practice:Define and then experience an arts integration experience to deepen understanding of your PLACE, your PURPOSE, and your PLAY in your professional life, experience arts integration process using photography. 

  • Culminating Photography Showcase: Synthesize a powerful idea from our time together with photography to be shared virtually with all participants as grounding evidence of our time together. 


Deliverables and Next Steps

All participants receive practical takeaways for sustained professional growth. As a culminating workshop activity, each participant will submit a titled photograph and caption to the Bold Educator Collective Photography Showcase.

This virtual mini-workshop serves as an entry point to the Collective’s long-term offerings, which include residential retreats and ongoing individual mentoring sessions (coming soon).

Virtual Learning Hardware

These tools will make your learning experience the most pleasant and effective:

  • Laptop or desktop computer with camera

  • Capacity to fully participate (not in transit from your smartphone) where distractions are limited and you are able to discuss and share with others.

  • Smartphone or digital camera for taking photos 

  • Reliable internet connection for Zoom.
