Teach Climate Colorado Workshop
Lead the way in climate literacy.
Empower your students.
Transform your community.
We know that teaching in today’s world can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. We provide a welcoming, authentic invitation to "come as you are" into a community of practice dedicated to the most meaningful "teachable moment" of our time.
Every June, educators from across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region gather to increase their confidence and competence in climate literacy education. Hosted by Wild Rose Education at the Third Street Center in Carbondale, this intensive 3-day workshop is more than a traditional seminar—it is a journey of renewal and professional adventure.

This program was born out of many years of collaboration between Wild Rose Education and Climate Generation's Teach Climate Network.
Why Join Us?
-
A People-Centered Approach: Climate change is a people issue; if it were only a science issue, it would have been solved decades ago. We pair concrete planetary systems with the human elements of storytelling, empathy, and collective action.
-
Aligned with Colorado’s Priorities: Designed to help you implement the Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy, this workshop uses inquiry-based frameworks aligned with Colorado's Academic Standards to ensure you leave with a custom interdisciplinary unit tailored to your unique classroom needs.
-
Beyond "Carbon Tunnel Vision": Move past individual footprints to focus on systemic solutions, civic engagement, and green career pathways.
-
Professional Growth: Earn 30 continuing education (CE) hours and optional SCED graduate credits from Adams State University to support your license renewal and salary advancement.
The Experience
Across three days, we transition from Thinking (analyzing systems and local air quality) to Relating (exploring water equity and personal resilience) and finally to Acting (designing student-led, policy-based action projects). You will explore local parks and open spaces to observe landscape changes and utilize cutting-edge state data like Colorado Enviroscreen 2.0.
This is your invitation to add a powerful lens to your existing curriculum while championing climate literacy with your learners. Join a regionally connected network of mentors and peers to build the collective strength our communities need.
